What does the Klaviyo connection do?
AzLytics is a Shopify analytics app. With Klaviyo connected, AzLytics:
- Sends three events for shoppers Klaviyo already knows: AzLytics Viewed Product, AzLytics Added to Cart and AzLytics Started Checkout. You use them to trigger your own browse, cart and checkout recovery flows in Klaviyo.
- Shows the revenue Klaviyo attributes to AzLytics-triggered flows inside AzLytics, under Recovery Suite → Overview. Campaign names, audiences and revenue are also read and stored for reporting.
You build and control your flows in Klaviyo. AzLytics never creates, edits or sends Klaviyo flows, campaigns or messages. It never creates or changes Klaviyo profiles either: an event is sent only for a profile that already exists.
What do I need before I start?
- AzLytics installed from the Shopify App Store. AzLytics adds its Shopify web pixel to your store.
- A Klaviyo account.
- For revenue figures: your Klaviyo account receives your Shopify orders (Klaviyo’s Shopify integration, which creates the “Placed Order” metric). The events are sent without it; only the revenue waits for it.
How do I connect from AzLytics?
- Open AzLytics from your Shopify admin.
- Go to Integrations → Klaviyo → Connect.
- Approve the requested permissions on Klaviyo’s consent screen.
How do I connect from Klaviyo?
- On the AzLytics listing in Klaviyo, click Install.
- AzLytics opens in your Shopify admin and starts the Klaviyo connection.
- Approve the requested permissions on Klaviyo’s consent screen.
Whichever way you connect, if Klaviyo shows “App has not been reviewed”, click Continue. Klaviyo shows this until it has reviewed AzLytics.
What happens after I connect?
- Build your flows. In Klaviyo, build flows triggered by the AzLytics metrics. The metrics appear after the first events arrive. See Build a Klaviyo flow on an AzLytics event.
- See the results. In AzLytics → Recovery Suite, see which shoppers were recognized, what was sent, and the revenue of AzLytics-triggered flows (Overview).
The settings link on the AzLytics app in Klaviyo opens AzLytics → Integrations.
Is sending on by default?
Yes. Once Klaviyo and the AzLytics pixel are both connected, AzLytics sends the three events for every eligible shopper.
After your first live Klaviyo flow triggered by an AzLytics metric, AzLytics keeps 10% of eligible shoppers aside to measure the extra revenue. No events are sent for them.
How do I turn sending off?
- Stop sending: in AzLytics → Recovery Suite → Settings, switch Send events to Klaviyo off. From that moment AzLytics sends nothing to Klaviyo, test sends included, and nothing is held back to send later. Switching it on again sends new events only. Klaviyo stays connected, and revenue reporting keeps working.
- Keep the events but stop all messages: pause the flows triggered by AzLytics metrics in Klaviyo.
- End the connection: disconnect (below).
How do I disconnect?
In AzLytics, go to Integrations → Klaviyo → Disconnect. AzLytics cancels its access at Klaviyo and deletes its stored login.
Removing the app in Klaviyo also cuts access at once: from then on, AzLytics’s calls are refused.
Stored Klaviyo data (the names and revenue figures listed in What AzLytics reads and sends) is deleted with the store 30 days after AzLytics is uninstalled from your Shopify store. The send log is deleted after 90 days.
